Saturday, February 26, at Noon in the Loop, Chicago
“From the ‘guerrilla activists’ trying to take down Planned Parenthood to the state and federal legislators (from both parties) further restricting women’s access to abortion, 2011 has seen more assaults on women’s most fundamental rights yet – even more than under the Bush years. There are 3 anti-abortion federal bills and more than 200 state level bills restricting access to abortion (and cutting funds for birth control, cancer screenings and other basic care for women into the attacks for good measure). Many of the state-level bills pose fundamental challenges to Roe v. Wade, paving the way for Supreme Court challenges down the line. What we need is an outpouring of resistance to this assault on the humanity of women!” See more here
The exact location of this new style of protest will be announced Friday here. You can learn more about these attacks here and download the WCW flyer here. Spread the word and this link everywhere – now is the time!
Join the protest in Chicago at NOON on Saturday, March 19.
We will meet at the corner of N. Michigan Avenue and Congress Blvd.
Come to the monthly meeting of the Chicago chapter of World Can’t Wait this Monday, February 28, to workshop our plans for the March 19 protest and creative ways to build for the 8th anniversary of the “shock and awe” that started these immoral wars and occupations. Bring an anti-war vet and activist to a high school classroom, or show the Collateral Murder DVD at a school, church, club or anywhere people get together. We’ll get together at 6:30 pm this Monday at Nesh Mediterranean Grill, 734 W. Fullerton, in Chicago. Come by!
Your contribution will go to work right away organizing visible resistance in the streets. World Can’t Wait is committed to being in the streets and among the people but we can’t do it without YOUR involvement and financial support. Read why other people support World Can’t Wait, and ask a friend to join you in sustaining our movement.
